How it works

When you open the Insights panel (or one is generated on a schedule), Produl aggregates your site stats for the current period and the equivalent previous period — same duration, shifted back. Those two summaries are analysed by Produl AI, which only ever sees aggregated totals and rates — never individual visitor records, sessions, or identifiers.

Produl AI returns a ranked list of up to 5 insights. Each insight has a title, a description, a type (trend | anomaly | suggestion), and a severity (info | warning | critical). The dashboard renders them with colour-coded severity indicators so the most important items surface first.

Insight types

• trend — a directional change in a metric over the comparison window (e.g., mobile traffic up 34% week-on-week)
• anomaly — a metric that deviates unusually from recent history (e.g., bounce rate spiked on a single landing page)
• suggestion — an actionable recommendation based on patterns in the data (e.g., a high-traffic page with poor INP scores)

Caching & refresh

Generated insights are cached so the panel loads instantly on repeat visits. When the cache goes stale, the next load triggers a fresh generation in the background while the previous result is shown immediately — you never wait on a spinner.

You can force a refresh at any time by clicking Refresh in the Insights widget. This bypasses the cache and counts as one generation against your plan quota.

Privacy

Only aggregated counts and rates for your own site are used to produce insights. No raw pageview rows, session identifiers, IP addresses, or visitor-level data leave Produl's analytics pipeline. Insights generated for your account are private to your account.

Disabling insights

AI insights are gated by plan — remove the Insights widget from your dashboard to stop loading them, or switch to a plan that does not include AI insights. Produl also operates a global admin control that can pause generation platform-wide for compliance or incident response; when it's active, the widget shows any previously generated results with a banner indicating generation is temporarily paused.
