Data Regions

Choose where your analytics data is stored and processed. Data never leaves the selected region — US, EU, or APAC.

Enterprise+

Overview

Each site has a data regionsetting that determines where its analytics are stored and processed. Tracker collection endpoints accept data from any geographic location, but Produl's edge network routes writes to the configured region exclusively — data never passes through or is replicated to another region, even temporarily.

Available regions

  • US — United States. The default region. Lowest latency for North American visitors.
  • EU — European Union. All data stored and processed within the EU. Required for strict GDPR compliance or Data Processing Agreements that mandate EU-only storage.
  • APAC — Asia-Pacific. Optimised for visitors in the Asia-Pacific region. Lower write latency from countries like Australia, Japan, Singapore, and India.

Selecting a region

Choose a region in the New Site form when you first create a site. The region dropdown is only visible on Enterprise plans. If no region is selected, the site defaults to US.

Region is immutable

The region cannot be changed after a site is created, and data cannot be migrated between regions. If you need to switch regions, create a new site, update your tracker configuration, and accept that historical data will remain in the original region.

Compliance use cases

Selecting the EU region ensures all analytics data is stored and processed within the European Union, satisfying requirements that arise from GDPR when your DPA or SCCs restrict transfers outside the EEA. Combined with Produl's cookie-free, IP-anonymised collection, this provides a strong compliance posture without needing cookie consent banners.

APAC region selection supports compliance with frameworks like Singapore's PDPA or Australia's Privacy Act where data localisation is required or preferred. Contact privacy@produl.tech if you need a Data Processing Agreement or custom compliance documentation.
